Top 10 Annoying Things About Taliban

You may have heard the word Taliban, which means student. So, how do some students in the history of Afghanistan turn to become terrorists and captured the capital of Afghanistan? This question is still unanswered in the history. To understand the Taliban, please take a look into the history of Afghanistan. Taliban, also known as the Islamic Emirates of Afghanistan, is a Islamic political and military organization. Taliban activists were students of Jamia Dar ul Uloom Haqqaniya, an Islamic institute located in Akora Khattak, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. This organization headed by Mulla Omar with his 50 students brought up a new fundamentalist ideology in the region. The new doctrine consisted of a mixture of tribal Pashtun Culture and fundamental Islamic Sharia. This new doctrine became popular in all Pashtuns of the region, uniting them to fight against the communist government. Muhammad Najibullah’s regime, (Tajik origin ruler) was overthrown and Kabul fell into the hands of Taliban. ISI, a secret service agency of the Pakistan Army helped Taliban secretly.
Taliban government was the most harsh and despot. They used to abduct Tajik, Hazara, and Uzbek girls and forced them into sex slavery. They didn’t allow women to go out of the house. Taliban were also resistant to education and called modern education “a sin”. There are many other annoying things about their government being discussed in the following list.

Taliban’s annoying Habits:

  • Their Emergence:
Taliban came out of nowhere, they don’t have any strong social background. So their origin is vague. But, it’s suspected that this organization arose from a madrassa somewhere in Kandahar province of Afghanistan. Critics say it was the Pakistani ISI who provided them weapons to fight the non-Pashtun government. According to BBC News, Pakistani madrassas provided them early Jihadist training and teachings. Because Pakistan needed an ally in the region, so they created Taliban. The Taliban wanted to make Afghanistan, purely Islamic by imposing their own doctrine. However, their ideology is not purely Islamic as they profess, rather a mixture of tribal Pashtun culture and fundamental Islamic Sharia law. Other Islamic countries came to their help after fall of Kabul. They had no clear system of administration, tribunal and frugality.

8. Harsh Oppressors of Women
Under Taliban rule, women were not allowed to go out in public. It was considered a sin if women went out for any job. Women were restricted to their houses and no public gathering was allowed for women. Taliban ordered every woman to cover herself in such a way that now healthcare workers wear in coronavirus quarantine centers. Taliban are notorious for their violence on women and sexism. They stated that it’s their motive to create a secure environment for women where their dignity may be sacrosanct. It’s a tribal Pashtunwali belief that women must cover their bodies completely in such a way that no limb of their body should be seen. It was a decree from Mulla (the leader of the emirate) that women should wear a burqa. If for any reason she doesn’t do so, she is subject to penalty of 100 rubber sticks. Education to women was prohibited. But unfortunately, if someone caught, might be subject to execution.

Attack On Social Workers:
Taliban attacked social workers (aid workers, health workers) many times. They have reportedly killed many aid workers during their government tenure and after, fighting against Northern Alliance. Recently they killed a Japanese national who came to Afghanistan during Soviet War. He helped millions of Afghanis during and after the war.
Taliban has a disgusting habit to attack aid workers and organizations. They attacked CARE and Counterpart International offices in 2019. I mean what’s the point in attacking aid workers? Let them do their work. They are just helping people and serving humanity, let them do their service (Social Service). But, no Taliban cannot tolerate these social workers. The Taliban themselves doesn’t have a reason for killing aid workers. Taliban didn’t give access to the International Red Cross organization to their controlled areas. I can’t understand why do they kill innocent social workers. This is not Islam or according to Islamic teaching. They have their own version of Islam.

  • Resistant to Education:
Taliban and their allies had restricted educational facilities. Schools and college buildings were often attacked. Taliban used suicide bombers to attack girls’ schools in the country. Taliban had put a ban on girls’ education in their tenure. These attacks were a sign, that they didn’t want education and schools. What they wanted were explosives, arms and ammunition, missiles, bombs, etc. Taliban had previously restricted girls from going to schools. They were only allowed to study and recite the Quran.

  • Ignorance Among Leaders and Fighters:
Taliban leaders and their fighters are completely illiterate. They don’t have any idea about the significance of education. They don’t even know that the world is round. You may not believe but it’s true that they don’t have any basic knowledge about meaning the and importance of life. According to Professor Samina Afridi, the Taliban leaders have kept their fighters and other Pashtun children away from school because they think going to school is like inviting the wrath of Allah.
A proverb in Pashto language being misinterpreted as; Sabaq Da Madrase waye, Dapara Da Paise Waye Jannat Ke Be Zai Na We, Dozah Ke Ba Ghoopoay Wye (Those who study in schools are for money. They will not find a place in paradise, but will sink in hell). I mean this is complete stupidness…
  • Involvement in 9/11Terror Attacks:
Taliban was involved in 9/11 terror attacks on the World Trade Centre directly. Taliban provided shelter to Osama Bin Laden, the leader of Al Qaeda. Al Qaeda was a global terrorist organization that attacked US embassies in Tanzania and Kenya prior to 9/11 attacks. After 9/11, Taliban didn’t extradited Osama Bin Laden to US. Also, they didn’t allow US inspection teams to check the presence of terrorist training camps. Rather, they denied the existence of terror camps and their links with the 9/11 attacks. But, FBI investigation in September 2001 showed that Al Qaeda was the mastermind behind this terror attack. Several video clips, telephonic recordings and audio tapes confirmed the presence of Al Qaeda training camps and their involvement in 9/11 attacks.
  • Resistant to Modernization:
Taliban was always resistant to education, science and technology. They were also resistant to modern developments in science and technology. Their main focus was to bring kids to madrassas and provide them with Islamic and Jihadist teachings only. Taliban didn’t set up universities or any new technology institutes in their tenure. Taliban still uses old tactics to counter the advance of its opponents by damaging roads network, destroying electricity lines and other infrastructure. Moreover, they also attack educational institutes and hotels. In their point of view, hotels are the places of sin that must be shut down. It’s 2020 now and Afghanistan lack railway network. Imagine how important is modernization to Afghanistan. I worry about their future? What’s their future? The whole world is developing rapidly and Afghanistan lacks basic infrastructure. Thanks to the US government, who built airports, airbases for Afghanistan. Otherwise, the Taliban would have never done that.
  • Enforcing Islam By Use of Power:
Taliban during their government tenure enforced Islam by the use of power. They forced people to come to Masjid and offer prayers. However Islam never forces anybody to offer prayers, if he/she willingly prays, she will be rewarded hereafter. And, if someone doesn’t offer prayers it’s his problem. He will have to face the Allah. Using power and enforcing Islam is strictly prohibited even it’s written in books that if somebody wants to leave Islam, you must let him/her go. You have no right to forcibly stop him. This is their own version of Islam and has no any connection with universal Islamic teachings.
  • Human Trafficking and Sex Slaves:
Taliban enslaved Tajik, Uzbek and Hazara girls and smuggled them to neighboring countries. Taliban fighters along with other Al Qaeda members raided remote villages and forced young girls into sex slavery. These sex slaves were traded in the exchange of some money. Mostly traffickers traded these sex slaves to Pakistan and other neighboring countries.
  • Extremist Ideology:
  • Taliban uses suicide bombers to attack its opponents, an extreme level war tactic. This tactic was used in past when there had been no chance to stop the attacker. To enemy the enemy, soldiers used to wear explosives laden jackets and jumped into enemy lines.
  • Use of suicide attackers in modern era shows that these fighters lack sense of humanity. These brain washed suicide individuals are trained. The trainers implant and incorporate some entertaining ideas into attackers’ minds. For example, if you blow that enemy compound while wearing a suicide jacket, you will go to heaven and enjoy sex with hours ( young girls that will be provided to pious people in heaven). Really, if it’s so then everyone is ready to blow himself up. But wait it’s not a way to get entry into heaven. As heaven is for pious people and you have killed innocent people in a suicide blast. So, please provide accountability for killing innocent people first.

How far is the vaccine for Coronavirus?

Coronavirus mostly attributed to novel-Coronavirus 2019, is a deadly virus infected more than 100,000 people worldwide and is rapidly spreading. This coronavirus outbreak resulted in deaths of more than 3000 infected individuals, causing a severe emergency situation worldwide.

Novel-Coronavirus belong to the family of coronaviruses often blamed for common colds and flu but this deadly specie is most dangerous and can claim lives of its hosts. In past, the same virus family infected thousands of people in 2003, remembered as SARS outbreak. SARS and MERS both have been caused by the same family of viruses. SARS was believed to be transferred to humans through monkeys and MERS through camels to humans. Novel- Coronnavirus has spread to more than countries affecting people from every walk of life directly or indirectly.

Viral Vaccine Production:

Currently there is no any vaccine present for coronavirus that can provide immunity from the virus. There a question arises that whether the scientists be able to stop this spread of virus by developing vaccines? Will there be any vaccine for coronavirus? If yes, then how much will it take to reach to market?

These questions need to be answered but there is no reply. Some researchers have claimed of developing a new vaccine for coronavirus that will go through animal trial this week, the clinical trials may also start by this year.

But even if scientists can celebrate having developed a vaccine before Christmas, there is still the massive job of being able to mass-produce it.

There are already 4 coronaviruses circulating in humans and causing colds, fever, flu but we do not get vaccines for them. As they are less fatal and our body’s response is enough for combating them.

Immunity against coronavirus:

The vaccine don’t depend on age factor mostly but it is clear that it will not boost the immunity of aged people. If it then it can do it to a little extent because aged immune systems don’t respond well to immunizations.

Vaccines are either live or dead bacteria or viruses that have been weakened and sometimes they are fragmented and certain fragments are taken up and made vaccines. Our human body recognizes them as pathogens ( foreign invaders) and synthesizes antibiotics to kill the pathogens.

Pakistan may go dry by 2025

Pakistan is facing worst water crisis in this day. It is estimated that Pakistan will run dry by 2025 due to lack of management in irrigation system and lack of bigger dams for water storage. The authorities are in a deep sleep about the recent development that can cause a major setback to country’s stability.

A recent report from International Monetary Fund, Pakistan is believed to be in the top 3 countries facing acute water shortage. A survey from United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) also warned authorities of a serious water shortage by 2025.

“No person whether from north or south will have any resource of water by 2025”, said Neil Buhne, UN humanitarian coordinator for Pakistan.

It will be a biggest problem for country even more bigger than terrorism if not treated and this is not the first time research organizations alerted authorities responsible about an imepeading crisis.

In 2016, PCRWR reported that Pakistan touched the “water stress line” in 1990s and crossed “water scarcity line ” in 2005. If this situation prevails for enough time and no actions taken, Pakistan is likely to face acute shortage of water like drought in near future. PCRWR is associated with Pakistan’s Ministry of Science and Technology.

Pakistan has world’s fourth highest rate of water use. Its water intensity rate is highest in all over the world. Water intensity rate is the amount of water, in cubic meters used per unit of GDP. This indicates that no country is more water intensive than Pakistan.

According to survey of IMF, Pakistan’s annual water availability is 1017 cubic meters and threshold scarcity is about 1000 cubic meters a very closest ratio. According to IMF the irrigation system which is using bulk of water quantity more than any other thing is underpriced. The tax collection revenue recoverd from farmers is about quarter of its annual operating and maintainence expenses.

Population growth and urbanization are the causes associated with water crisis of south asian country. This issue has also been exacerbated by climate change. Moreover poor water management and lack of political will to handle the situation also add to water crisis.

Pakistan will approach scarcity threshold for water in a matter of time. The ground water level is also decreasing and the groundwater supplies are also depleting rapidly.

Need for Dams:

It is the time for dams to be built on large scale. Small dams should be built in large numbers to cope up with water crisis. Moreover, country’s two big water reservoirs Mangla and Tarbela Dams can supply water to country for only 30 days. While India Water reservoirs can supply for 190 days and US reservoirs can supply for 900 days. There is a lot need of dams to be built with huge storage capacity. These new and advanced water reservoirs will change the thirst future of Pakistan.

Wastage of water:

Water wastage has also added to the crisis, apart from storage issues. Foreign diplomats and other media influencers took to social media urging people to stop wasting water and minimizing use of water.

Car washing through spray pipes wastes almost 100 litres of water in a single wash while this wastage can be reduced to a one or two buckets of water. German ambassador took to Social media posting his picture while washing his car with bucket of water and urging people to use buckets instead of spray pipes.

Lack of Poltical Will:

Lack of political will may add to crisis as new dams should be built for facing water shortage but there is no any development in this field. No senator or parliamentarian discussed this issue in parliament or on media. Regional and ethnical politicians have opposed the idea of building new dams.

Sindh has always opposed building of new dams like the controversial Kalabagh Dam, they think through helper canals Punjab will steal their portion of water. Nationalist sindhi leaders have always opposed this idea of building dams as it will affect natural of Indus. Due to Indus delta Sindh has already lost its 22 lac acres of land.

Corona Virus Global Outbreak

Corona Virus ( novel Coronavirus 2019) belongs to the family of Corona viruses that are responsible for common cold and flu. This family was previously responsible for severe acute respiratory syndrome and Middle East respiratory syndrome. Corona virus has spread from Chinese Hubei province’s Wuhan city. This virus spread from the non-veg market in Wuhan. Mostly suspected that Corona virus was present in bat soup and certain types of fish.

Corona Virus History:

It is is believed to be present in certain mammalian animals such as pangolins and bats. Corona virus was previously blamed for SARS outbreak in 2003 that almost infected 10000 people and killed near thousand patients. Another virus from the same family called MERS ( Middle East Respiratory Syndrome) infected thousands of persons in Middle East. Middle East respiratory syndrome was believed to spread from camels to humans in a spill over phenomena. This outbreak almost killed thousands of people.

Signs and symptoms:

Sign and symptoms for coronavirus are given below:

  • Fever
  • Headache
  • Shortness of Breath
  • Asthma/Pneumonia
  • Coughing
  • Sneezing
  • Redness of nose and face areas
  • Breathing difficulties that may lead to Death.

Prevention and Treatment:

There is no vaccine for Corona virus so as to avoid being infected you should use precautionary measures. Don’t go near to any person coughing or has been a suspect of that disease. Try to cover your hands and face. Use special type of mask called N95 mask. Always wash your hands with disinfectants. Keep your body clean regularly. Avoid dust particles.
